Many of those who met Gosling during his life have fond memories of the occasion. Being associated with a well known slope soaring venue at Clwyd in North Wales, Gosling was sometimes referred to as "Lord Gosling of Clwyd". In the 1940's Gosling was viewed with awe by younger aeromodellers and was only ever addressed by his full initials and never by his Christian Name!
