Stanger Aircraft
These pictures are almost certainly of David Stanger's 1914 Record Setting aircraft. Somewhat strange is the written information associated with the pictures because it states, in a rather shaky hand, that the pictures are of J. Stanger's aircraft. It is my belief that this information was added by Alwyn Greenhalgh at some time after he had suffered a debilitating stroke that affected - amongst other things - his ability to distinguish various letters of the alphabet
It is interesting to note that these pictures show some differences from the picture on the main page about David Stanger in that the aircraft has been fitted with additional vertical surfaces on the aft wing interplane struts
The more I study these pictures the more I believe I am going to have to build a replica of The Stanger 1914 aircraft!
